Habeas Corpus Auditions

This May, we will be producing the hilariously raunchy Habeas Corpus by Alan Bennett and we are excited to announce that the auditions will be on Tuesday 5th February!

Amidst the seaside air of Brighton, the antics at the Wicksteed home are a satirical mess of passion. Family, friends and strangers become entangled in the sexual satisfaction of the “corpus” (body) – all except the innocent maid Mrs Swabb, the observer of all ill-judged lunges into lust and general wrong-doings. Think fake breasts, dropped trousers, unfortunate mistaken identities, and one strong family motto: He whose lust lasts, lasts longest.

We’ll be holding open auditions on at 7:30pm on Tuesday 5th February, at Tenterden Pavilion, for the following roles:

Arthur Wickstead – early 50’s, a GP

Dennis Wickstead – early 20’s, Arthur’s son

Canon Throbbing – 30-40, a celibate Priest

Mr Shanks – 30-40, a sales representative

Sir Percy Shorter – 50-60, a leading light in the medical profession

Mr Purdue – 40-50, a suicidal patient

Muriel Wickstead – early 40’s, Arthur’s wife

Constance Wickstead – early 40’s, Arthur’s sister

Mrs Swabb – 40-60, a cleaning lady

Lady Rumpers – 50-60, a white settler

Felicity Rumpers – 20-30, Lady Rumpers’ daughter
